Location: Nebraska | I don't know about harpy virus, but herpes virus unless you are breeding I wouldn't worry to much about it. I vaccinate for it , but vaccines are not 100% and may only reduce severity of the disease. the neurological strain is the worst, for most horses. Uconn had some horses that had signs and cancelled some equine events |

Location: NY | the virus is from over sea and it is the neurological strain. there have been seval barn that have turned up with the virus and have been quintened. I was just wondering how far has this gotten? |

Location: Nebraska | There is 9 different herpes viruses that affect equids, of the 9 only 5 affect domestic horses, of these 5 only 3 can cause illness, Equine Herpes Virus 1 (EHV-1), Equine Herpes Virus 3 (EHV-3), and Equine Herpes Virus 4 (EHV-4). Only EHV-1 causes the most losses, and it has been world wide for a long, long, time. Besides causing respiratory illnesses, and abortions, it also causes neurological illnesses. Location: NY | Thank you for the link, I was just look to see if anybody els has see the viuse in there area or not. Where I am the virus is around the area thank god it is not right next to my horse ,It is in Floradia and Conncte and up state NY |
