Location: Vanzant, Missouri | I have a 16ft steel stock trailer that needs some tlc. I was quoted a price of 1K (by a friend)to sandblast it completely and paint it but no clear coat. Is this reasonable or should I put my guard up? We will strip all the wood out of it before it's done so that the frame can be exposed...The trailer is 10yrs old so I figured it still cheaper than a new one and it will hopefully last 10 more years....Any thoughts?? |

Location: Lockport, Illinois | After it is sandblasted, it should be primer etched, then primed, and then painted. Not all final coats need to be clear coated. Imron is the hardest final coat I know of. Make sure all seams are caulked. |

Location: Mena, AR | I had my 2000 2-horse stock/combo with dressing room sandblasted, painted inside & out, two coats of primer, 2 coats of paint for $1,500 this July/Aug. They even painted the wheels for me so they'd match. They did great paint job, but most of the lights didn't work when I got it back, so I spent an afternoon fixing those.  Looks real good. I really liked the trailer and it is in excellent condition. Now it needs new tires and a brake job, never ends ..... -Betty |

Location: Cherokee, Ia | We had our 1991 3 horse stock/combo redone over 5 years ago.....sandblasted, primed, 2 coats paint and clear coated, still looks great.( The guy who did it paints semis and tractors.) He also sprayed Rhinoliner(like rubber bed liner) on the running boards, fender wells and on the front under the gooseneck. The entire bill was around 2000.00 and WELL worth it.Have the liner sprayed on, saves on rust on your trailer. None on mine yet!!(and it sets out all year in Iowa winters!!) This added years to our little steel trailer. The price he quoted you is not too bad, but DO clear coat and Rhinoline!! |
