Would the vin # give us a clue to how old the trailer is? If I post a couple pictures of the trailer would someone beable to tell me aprox what year it is? Thanks Michelle :) |

Location: Vanzant, Missouri | On my GN it's up under the GN and on my stock BP it's on the side near the door. You may try and contact Kingston. |

Location: Burleson, TX | Hello :0)
Hey, I almost bought a stolen trailer from a large reputable trailer dealer here. The number stamped on the tongue matched the one on the title. It was a 2001 model Equispirit and I was so happy to find it for sale here. It was in great shape and looked like it had never been used hardly at all. The dealer did not have the keys, so while they were checking it over for me, I called Equispirit to see if I could get a new set of keys sent to me. They informed me the vin number I was giving them was not theirs. They asked if the number on the plate in the dressing room had the same number. There was no plate in the dressing area. They then said the number was also stamped in the frame way back under the trailer and to check there. Sure enough that number was indeed an Equispirit number and it matched a 2000 model trailer stolen in 2002 from a doctor in North Carolina! The insurance company now has the trailer and the dealer and police are hunting for the guy who sold it. I learned never to buy a trailer until I establish with the manufacturer that the numbers match. Otherwise, you can find yourself at the least out a lot of money, and at worst trying to explain to the authorities just how you came by the trailer. Even if the person selling it seems completely honest, they may not even know.
The older I get, the more I think I should have listened more to my mom :0)
