In 2005, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), 94,037 horses were slaughtered for human consumption at the three foreign-owned horse slaughter plants in this country (two in Texas and one in Illinois). Blood Country... a Texas Shame - This movie is very upsetting. I wouldn't watch it with the kids around. Also, don't watch it if you will be offended - it contains information regarding the slaughter houses in Texas. Some of the scenes are very graphic.
