Hey every one,

My question is once the werm flooring wears out can it be replaced with a wood floor, aluminum,  or does it have to be fixed with the werm flooring?

Thank You for your help

"You got that gun out of the holster slicker 'n snot"

or My favorite...

Ok,you sure caught up with me slickrnsnot.

WERM flooring is trowled on top of aluminum flooring.  Since it about 5/8 - 3/4 inch thick and pretty sturdy, I don't think it will wear out very fast.  IF you have a pawer who dig's a hole, that can be repaired with the same product.

I always equated "Slicker N Snot" to "Slicker than owl s**t".

I just got my werm flooring in last week, so far it is awesome. Only way I can see it weraing out is if you have a pawing horse who digs a hole, and I would say it can be repaired with the same product.
I can't imagine the whole floor wearing out.

You had WERM flooring installed? Can it be installed in an older model trailer? Who does it?

No, We were looking at a 2006 4Star. The price is right for a 4Star. But it is 7' wide with mangers. I don't like that. I think it should be at least a 7'6" wide if it's going to have mangers. I think we have changed our minds.

Thank You everyone

Hi - WERM flooring can be put in ANY older trailer - they usually clean and prep it before "pouring" the WERM - we had our 8 year old 4-Star done, including the rear tack and the mid tack - it was a 3 horse slant/mangers except in the first stall - and at the Dealer in Oklahoma City, OK - they installed it for $525.00 - in 2004.....the owner is Kris Parmer and he has other dealerships in different parts of the country - give him a call....1-800-350-7564....BUT now we have a Sundowner trailer that has the "planked-type" aluminum floor - and it is going to cost TWICE as much to do it - because it has to be "skim" - coated first and then after that sets....another coat! We live in Michigan and we finally have a dealer here on the western side of the state.....WE LOVED the WERM floor - I'm on the little, weak side and I sure hated dragging those mats in and out to pressure wash the floor after each use!

I will call them. I have a '97 4-Star and the floors are good but I too have trouble dragging the mats out. There is a 4Star dealer in Kentucky so maybe they can do it.

When we bought our new trailer several year's ago, the dealership offered WERM flooring.  After looking at it in several trailer's that had it on their lot, we were all over it.  It's a 4 horse and added about $1,000 to the price.

Not only are mat's heavy, they smell to high Heaven!  You can never get the smell out of them, no matter how many time's you wash them nor how much baking soda you use.

I called the number you gave me and there is a WERM dealer in Mt. Vernon, Illinois which is about 3 hours from here. I will let you know what he says.

I talked to the man in Mt Vernon Illinois and he said he thought it would be about $700 to put werm flooring in my 3 horse trailer. That seemed reasonable to me but I have to send him the exact measurements.

I have a tack compartment that folds in but I don't like it because things from the stall area seep under into my tack area. Has anyone had that sealed off with the werm flooring?

He also told me to check under my mats for holes etc. and to make sure all of the mats are out when I bring it to him. Does aluminum actually rot?

Ya I had my trailer done in Lincoln, Neb. about three hrs from home. Got in there 8am and out and on the road by 230pm. 3 horse slant LQ 8ft wide with mangers, they did everything. cost $808.00. I have been wanting to get it done for three yrs now and finally had $$ and time and was sick of hauling out the damn mats, not to mention if I would slip and wrentch my back, I think it is farely cheap, relatively speaking.

Only hard part was scrubbing the floor to get it spotless before I took it in. Good old scrub brush and elbow grease and palmolive. Looked great but am sooooo happy I did it.

Your aluminum won't rot, but it will corrode. I had my trailer rhino-lined a few years ago and there were pitted spots from urine seeping under the mats. I used muriatic acid and tons of water to clean off the corrosion, the company used a plastic bead blast media to finish off. Maybe WERM flooring doesn't require the same prep. I have never regretted for a minute getting the liner done. They hadn't marketed WERM yet or I would have done that instead.

Horse Crazy, Not an answer to your original question, but, you still might want to consider the 4-Star- 7'wide with mangers.  Just so you know, I ordered a new 4-Star in 2004 & was told that the mangers came in 2 sizes -- 18" wide & 24" wide. I myself went with the 7' wide trailer with the smaller 18" wide mangers and have been real happy with it. Just a personal preference. I don't know if other trailer brands offer this option, and maybe you are already aware of it. The largest horse I have hauled in it so far is about 15.2H with no problems. Anyway, just a thought if you didn't already know.  Maybe it wouldn't work for you anyway. But, if you think it might, you could just ask them how wide the mangers are.  Hope this helps. ---I LOVE my 4-Star and the W.E.R.M. flooring!!!
