Location: Claxton, Ga. | If I could get a 2005 Sundowner LQ trailer for $1000 under invoice (What they paid for it) would that be a good deal? I have been searching around on this site about different trailers and haven't made my mind up. The SD LQ trailers I am talking about have LP heater furnaces instead of electric heat strips and that is a feature that is nice in my opinion. I just like everyone else I want the most bang for my buck. |

I have no experience with SD trailers so I can't tell ya anything about them.I have a Trails West lq and love it. Yes I believe gas heat is the way to go.Your not tied to the extension cord. Location: Home of Wild Turkey Whiskey | If you are looking for bang for your buck, you better stop looking at Sundowner. All you get with them is a pretty decal for your buck. No value in that. Sundowner has really dropped of in the benefits for the dollar department in the last several years. Look around on this site, I am sure you will find other brands with more options for the dollar. |

Location: Oklahoma | spooler, I say to follow slickerthensnot's advise and shop around. I don't know of to many dealers that give trailers away like The Blue Moon Dealers. Sundower is pretty competitive with other dealers so you may be able to have a trailer delivered to you for even a cheaper price. Horsetrailerworld is a good site to compare those trailer deal prices. |

Location: Rocky Mount N.C. | I don't care what you get, just so long as you get that L.P. Gas heat. I got those strips and when it's cold outside ..............It's cold in the trailer. They (heat strips) do pretty good as long as it don't get much below the mid 40's. Below that and you are ready to start burning the spare tire and some of the old tack to stay warm! I think my heat strips are only rated at 1500 watts or 5000 btu's, wifes hair dryer will do that much!

I so agree, with HWBar, I think there are other brands of trailers that will give you more options for a similar price. In addition, take a look at the quality of things like the hinges, the spacing of the rivets etc.. |

Location: MO in woods | As a PROUD owner of 2 Sundowner Trailers.Check check around on lisings of same trailer vaules an options.Never had problem with ours.Do have gas furance an LOVE IT.They Sundowner always return calls etc.Our 1999 Sieasta looks NEW still an we bought it used.We bought from private party.Some dealers do really mark up the trailers too.So shop around. |

Location: Kentucky | If you get one of the same ceramic electric heaters, you won't need to use the heat strip. They will get a trailer as warm as you can stand it. |

Location: Kentucky | Is there a Blue Book like they have for cars that tells what a trailer might be worth if it is a certain age and brand? Also what about a consumer's guide to trailers that tells about welds, etc. on different brands. The reviews that I have seen are usually by the company itself which would certainly be biased. |

Location: Oklahoma | The NADA book does show Featherlite, Exxis and Sundowner in the travel trailer section. But only if it has a Living quarters put in by the Manufacture of the trailer. If an outsource conversion company installed the LQ then the NADA source may not be as useful. |

Location: Illinois | We have the heat strip and what I hate about it, it never shuts off. Get so sick of listening to that thing all the time. I agree with Arlene I got a ceramic heater and love it. Has a fan and turns on and off automaticaly. Can set temp where your comfy. I know some people that have the furnace and use the ceramic heater instead.
