Two places our group love to go are MidWest Trailride in Indiana and One Horse Gap in Illinois. MidWest is a fairly large camp with plenty of sites and large bath houses. The trails are easy. The stalls are right at your campsite. OHG is a smaller camp in the Shawnee forest. It is family owned and run and they really go out of their way to make you feel at home. The riding is TERRIFIC!! Lots of beautiful scenery. Drawbacks: They do not have stalls built yet...only 10x10 panel pens, but they are in the shade. And the bath house is small. 2 stalls for women and 2 for men. We went for Mem. wknd. this year and there were probably 30 rigs and we never had to wait for the shower. We loved it and want to go back next year because the riding was so spectacular. Both places have websites you can google. RIDE ON! |
