Location: Fort Myers, Fl | So wondered if there were any places along my route fairly close that others know of that I might regret missing. My trip driving alone will be 4 days unless I layover a day or so for R&R....figured why not!!?? a little concerned about pooping out 1/2 way..actually a lot concerned...try scared My path will take me from here toward Atlanta -Nashville-southern tip of KY and Illinois over to St Louis and then due west to Denver. I would have posted this sooner but just found my password I'm leaving Fl this Sat to Ga where I will pull out again Monday morning 6/26. Any comments would be so appreciated...and tips for trailer safety also from the more experienced out there....also what about equine medical facilities along the way such as Universities with equine care..anyone know?? What would I do if Coal has a problem?? Er...haven't had as much planning time as I would have hoped for but did get a few bases covered...US Rider road service..better cell phone coverage...taking 2 spare tires for...water from home and electrolytes.... Thanks in advance for your help.. Deb in Fl who at "coming" 55 (7/02) has decided to "go find herself"...and experience one of her dreams....teehee Send all your prayes for Sanity & Safety |

Location: White Mills, Ky. | Birdsong.......The Shawnee forest in so. ILL is some really terrific riding. There are lots of places to stay and camp. Our favorite is One Horse Gap. The Buchanan family will personally take care of you and your horse. They have a website and their phone # is (618) 264-7433. It is just a little ways north of Paducah, KY. Hope you "find yourself" safe and happy. RIDE ON! |

Location: Fort Myers, Fl | Got that message and thanks so much Beverly/Dwight. I do plan to keep a journal..I can't remember when I've had time just for me without the everyday responsibilities of a business for 30 years...and raising the family (alone) ...It will be a switch to find myself with time..so I will read and write. I also plan to give the horse camp folks a call too. Thanks so much!!! |

Location: Illinois | Deb wish I had read this sooner. I would have loved to come down to Shawnee and meet up and ride with you. Are you moving to Denver or just traveling up there to ride? Looking forward to reading your stories. Be safe. Happy Safe Trails. Saying a prayer for you.
God Bless

Location: Illinois | Just thinking of Deb hope she's doing ok on her trip.
monster horse will be down in your neck of the woods in a couple of weeks. Our son is there, he's in the Air Force working at Naval Base. We're going to have our 1st. grandchild. Coming down the 11th. and staying until our little one is born.

Location: pensacola, fl | Shari, Congrats on the Grandbaby!! If you get a chance while your here check out the "Coldwater Equine Facility" in Munson. Maybe you guys can bring your horses next time you visit and take advantage of some nice trailriding!! I'll try to find the website and send you a link. As for Birdsong and her travels to Denver, I have felt like doing the same thing. My 26 year old best trail horse as been diagnosed with Heaves, the vet says the best thing I can do for him is find him a home out west where the air quality is better. I would love to take him out there for a couple of weeks to see if it really makes a difference. |

I couldn't find the home page for the Coldwater Equine park but I found a local club that has a page on their website, Here it is...
I hope this works!
