If so, they draw HUGE amounts of power. Running that AND the AC may be your problem. Not sure how much a coffe pot draws but with a heating element, it may be a lot. Sounds like your just overloading the generator. Try to run the AC and a few lights only and see how it does. |

You are trying to run the whole trailer on 15 amps. If you continue to run the trailer on 15 amps, you could do damage to the AC and the fridge. |

Each can generate 15 amps. When you plug into one 15 amp receptacle, you get 15 amps or 1800 watts. No more since the circuit breaker trips at 15 amps. To get more watts of power from your generator you will have to have two 120 volt plugs (each a separate circuit) or a single 240 volt cord input to your trailer |

It plugs into one 20amp and one 30amp plug on separate circuits to provide a 240v/50amp service outlet. So, surely they also make a service plug that will plug into both of your 15amp outlets on the generator and combine them so that you will have a single 30amp plug. If they can do it for the 50amp/240v they should have one for 30amp/120v. Good Luck![](http://www.horsetrailerworld.com/forum/emoticons/icon_aug8.gif) |

You can go to home depot or Lowes and buy a plug, a length of 10 guage wire and a box or recepticle of your choice that your trailer will plug into. You buy all the parts for $20. My Generac 6000 Watt generator has four 15amp plugs and one 30 amp plug. Air Compressors on jobs sites keep popping the 15 amp breaker. Couldn't find a cheater box so I just made one up. Mine went from 30amp RV plug to a Four plex box of 110watt plugs. Compressors works fine now. |

That is what those adaptors are for isn't it? The one that plugs into both outlets and then goes to one plug the trailer power cord plugs into. Not quite... If you make an adapter that that plugs into both 15 amp outlets you'll be paralleling the two coils. There is the great chance that one coil will be unbalanced to the other and have more load. That's why the OP has a 20 amp outlet instead of 30 amps. If you make this "two to one" adapter anyway, this will happen. As you turn on appliances the current will be shared across the two coils. At some point, one coil will hit 15 amps and its breaker will trip. The other coil will suddenly have the full load and its breaker will trip immediately after. This instantanous load is the hardest kind of overload to a breaker. IF the last breaker doesn't trip, you WILL burn out the generator. Terri: You will be better served by having separate two cords. Each cord will provide 15 amps to the appliances connected. Allen: It is better to get an adapter to your single 20 amp outlet from the 30 amp RV cord. Make sure the adapter is wired to provide 120 volts. A mistake will connect 240 volts ... and burn up a lot of cash and trailer appliances.

Pretty much every appliance and outlet has it's own breaker. There is one RV 30amp line coming out of the trailer that I twist lock on to the generator. I didn't do all that (we added outlets), had a electrician do it and it works like a champ! |

Just get the twist lock adapter (30/30 male) and hook everything up to that. Using the twist lock, I run the AC and fridge with smart throttle on and everything runs smoothly! |

Now that I know we were only using the 15 amp outlet and not the 30amp maybe it will run both. Someday I may have my horse trailer wired so I can use the generator for that too. I was supposed to have someone come out yesterday to do it, but wouldn't you know it, it rained. And boy has it rained. All the feed pans were running over, the stock tank is now full and the dump cart for my riding mower was almost full. Its 16 inches deep!! |

Would run A/C and fridge at the same time but not my micro unless I shut off the air. Used it for the second time last weekend with the 30amp adapter and ran everything no problem. If yours is a Kipor 3500Ti it should have the 30 amp outlet on it. Talk to your dealer about getting an adapter.
