Location: Louisville, KY | I just realized I didn't include placement! As follows: Exactly 2 pairs of 300mm long white strips on the rear upper corners facing rearward at the top. Continuous lines of red/white on the rear bumper bar’s horizontal element full width – facing rearward. Need continuous lines of red/white on the rear full width of the vehicle facing rearward as horizontal as practicable and as close as practicable to the range of 375 to 1525mm from the ground. Need continuous lines of red/white on each side – facing sideward, or evenly spaced over minimum of 50% of length starts and ends as close to the front and rear of the vehicle as practicable. Needs to be as horizontal as practicable and as close as practicable to the range of 375 to 1525mm from the ground.

Location: Columbia, TN | Is it mandatory for older trailers which were legal when they were made not to have it? I know it is mandatory on new rigs. I think the grandfather law applies.

| In general, safety laws like this don't "grandfather". Conspicuity tape is required (as stated above) to be on the road, regardless of manufacture date. You might recall the trucking industry had to buy miles of tape to outfit their fleet when this took effect...

Location: North Carolina | I would not hesitate to put Conspicuity tape on my trailer. Mandatory or not. The reason you want it, is to help other drivers see and notice your trailer at night. You don't always have your running lights on... say parked in a campsite or field. Avoiding the accident is always better than dealing with the mess later. E-bay is a great place to get the stuff. It does break-down with weather and age.

Location: Grapeland, Texas | I got some of the tape and put it on an older lowboy trailer for the safety factor. I even put it on my two wheeled cart for when we are out at night.
