I just put 2 new tires on the rear of my F-250 Super Duty, (LT265/75/16 AT/D2) Goodyear Wranglers they have an 'E' rating. The problem is that now when at highway speeds it feels like the rear end is loose as heck, almost like driving on snowpack. and no there is no snow here right now. Any ideas what would be causing this?

Thanks guys. They had the tires at the 55psi as stated on the door of the truck. I backed them down to 42 psi. and wow I can't believe the diff. I'll put some air back into them when I have the trailer on but keep the pressure down when just tootling arround.

I'm guessing that these are wider than you had on before, that the 55 is for the original size and that the 42 is what you have found now works.
The difference between 55 and 42 probably represents the relative ease with which they might hydroplane.

Was it purchased new with "D" rating or "E" rated tires , and what is on the front?....just curious.

Last fall as snow season approached, I replaced my two rear tires with a different brand of tire. Front tires still had remaining tread, So I thought I'd keep them a few months longer. My truck felt really squirrelly with the mismatched tires. So I finally got two more matching tires and the truck felt a whole lot better.
I'm no expert, so weigh this with a lot of salt. But I suspect there is enough of a difference between tire makes that it can affect handling of your truck. Older worn tires may have softer sidewall flex than new tires. Differnt manufactures have different flex. etc.
It may be as easy as adjusting air pressure to get the tires to run better. It may require you buy a matching set for the front.

I don't know what it had on when it was new. It has "E" on the front as well.
