Hello all!  Just a question before I embark on my DIY LQ....why is the R Max white insulation board used as opposed to the pink foam?  I have looked at many of the members website's that say to use that, just looking for the reason why.  Thanks!!!

No reason really, except I think the price might be a bit cheaper on the R-Max. I don't think the R value is much different. I have seen a few that have used the pink stuff. I also think that the foil side of the R-Max adds some heat reflective qualities to the insulation that the pink stuff doesn't have.

Okay, here's a related question: Why not polyiso insulation?  It has nearly double the R- value of the pink stuff.
