Has anyone had trouble with there dropdown windows on these trailers? We have a 2001 exiss that the windows fell down then fell apart, the reason was they were made with with wood inside the aluminum, the wood rotted out. We are having trouble getting Exiss to help us, any suggestions?

Two of my hinges broke on my drop-down window and Exiss graciously replaced them. I am the third owner and they were not obliged to do so.

Barrelmama, the problem you are describing sounds like the one on which we had a recall a few years back.  There were several manufacturers that bought drop down doors, as well as several other type doors, from a company called "Hehr", from about 1999 thru or into 2003.  Hehr used a glue, on some of these doors, on the inside of the door frame, that literally ate thru the aluminum, from the inside.  Exiss and Hehr, as well as some of the other manufacturers, ran this recall for 3 years.  Hundreds were replaced at no cost to the customer.  It was discontinued about a year or so ago.  Having said this, I will help you in any way possible.  A couple questions first please.  Are you the original purchaser?  Have you had a qualified tech look at it to determine the exact cause?  Is the dealer you purchased from still in business?  Where are you located?  Thanks,  DON SMITH, OWNER, DIXIE HORSE & MULE CO.  TOLL FREE 877-694-5665-XT 121

Hmmmm.  I just bought a 2001 Exiss 2H gooseneck and the edging around the drop down windows is a big problem.  There is a black, I guess I'd call it weather stripping for a lack of a better way to describe it, around the inside rim of the windows which totally off on one window.  Undernearth the weartherstripping the edges of the trim are all sharp and there is space in between it.  Is this what your's looks like?  I'm going out right now and taking a picture of it.  Hopefully they will attach ok.  Here goes.

That's what this forum should be doing, letting us common folk know who are the good guys. Big standing ovation for Dixie Horse and Mule. There are so many dealers on this site(I call them hiding in the bushes) they will sure come out of hiding when someone wants to buy. Dixie has consistantly come to the rescue of folks with problems on Exiss trailers, If Exiss had more dealers like Dixie they would definitly be better off. They will get lots of referals from me.

Thank you barrelmama, and HWBar, for the kind words!  Customer service is always first with our company, and, with Exiss too, as is evidenced by their actions in this case!  I'm very glad they took care of the problem.  This trailer is an 01, I think, has had 3 different owners, with current owner having it about one year, and no warranty transfers.  Exiss took this action, though there was no warranty obligation whatsoever to do so, and I'd like to commend and thank them!  Such customer support speaks volumes!  DON SMITH, OWNER, DIXIE HORSE & MULE CO.
