I have just baught a used trailer it has brakes on both axles but their not wired up, how can i tell which wire is which, to wire them to a 7 way plug?

Hi and Welcome.

One wire from each magnet will go to ground, the other will join up with 3 similar ones from the other brake magnets and go back to the connector. The convention is to use a blue wire for this. There is a link on this site's home page, above the forums http://www.horsetrailerworld.com for the usual 7 pin layout. Be sure to also get the stop and tail lights correct.
