I have a '91 Chevy G2500 van and a two horse slant BP. I am concerned that my rear suspension is not strong enough. The van is a little light in the front end, and I haven't loaded a horse in it yet. Does anyone have any suggestions for beefing up my rear suspension? Is anyone out there pulling with a van?

Hi and Welcome.
I see a few vans, club wagons at events, even minivans.
I recently put air bags on the back of a chevvy 1-Ton, not for beefing it up, but for smoothing it out, the results so far have been quite good.

If your trailer and van are doing that little "dippy dance" you might find a load distributing hitch would help.

I agree with the weight distributing hitch.  I have a GMC 2500 HD and still use one with my long DR BP trailer.

For the cost, the hitch really helps and makes driving this trailer a lot safer.  Don't forget about checking/installing your trailer brakes, too.

I had a 91 GMC Vandura 2500 and pulled both a 2 horse BP and a 4 horse BP with camping gear and 2 horses all over the Southeast doing competitive trail.  I sure miss that ole workhorse!!  Finally blew the tranny at 112k miles.  That van pulled GREAT, It served as both a horse hauler and a living quarter.  Oh, did I mention that I also had a 50 gallon water tank on top of the trailer??  A great van!!
