Location: Mt. Horeb, WI | What is your take on the BrakeSmart controller? Where can you buy one? I have a 2006 Duramax Diesel on order and need a controller. It seems like this one is better for pulling two different size trailers without always having to ajust the controller.

Location: Ada, Ok | I have one of these and have been very pleased with it. There is still some adjustment from very light to very heavy loads-(2 horse bumper pull to 3 horse 10' LQ). What I like about it most is the way it applies the brakes, just the same as I push on the pedal. I can't feel the trailer pushing or pulling as I come to a stop. No trailer brakes locking up, no feeling like the intersection will be past before I get completely stopped. |

Location: Apache Jct, AZ | The smoothest brake controller I have ever used is the Jordan. It connects to the brake pedal via a cable and comes on strong if you punch the pedal, or easy if you use light braking pressure. |

Location: Columbia,Mo.65203 | I purchased one direct from the manufacturer about 2 years ago and put it on my 2004 GMC dually. It is pricey compared to others, but I would buy one again. The braking is so much smoother than the other brand I was using, and it is obvious to me my other controller was causing the brakes to be "grabby".In general a excellent controller that is fairly easy to install yourself and worth the money. |

Location: Kaysville, Utah | BreakSmart Controllers are once again available from: http://www.drperformance.com/. I purchased one 2 years ago for my F250 4X4 Diesel, I pull a 3hr GN and 25’ fifth wheel and love the break controller. |

| There were very good reports about them a few years ago.
I tried to buy one about 2 years ago, supposedly there was a supply/manufacturing problem that they expected would be resolved "shortly".
They advertise in a regional equine publication from time to time and I pursue it approx quarterly. I always get the same response, "soon" and a promise to be contacted as soon as they have them. I think the last time there was at least a hint that there would be a price increase when (if ?) they re-appear.
I've just about given up on them, though I'd probably buy 2 if I found them locally for the right price. |

Location: Ada, Ok | There is a very strong demand for these controllers. When I bought mine, I was told that there was a waiting list and it would ship as soon as they were available. Ordered one the same color as my interior, took about three weeks to arrive. Mine is one of the models that can be upgraded to display EGT's and also I think boost PSI, with some hardware additions. |

I just searched that site, brakesmart returned zero hits.
Maybe they had them 2 years ago.

Location: Kaysville, Utah | The BreakSmart Controller is alive and well. I’m not sure what happened in your search but the product was picked up by a company called “Dr Performance” and they are located at 2217 Old Dennis Road, Weatherford, TX 76087, 1-877-338-737. I don’t care for the way they market the product, Steve who had the web site breaksmart.net had more detailed information on how the system worked, but when Dr Performance, (a Diesel shop) started selling the break controller Steve pulled the plug on his web site. I have talked with folks at Dr Performance and they said sales are very strong with the BreakSmart Controller. The Link above should take you to there web site. |

Whether you spell it breaksmart or brakesmart, as two words or one, searches of the DrPerformance web site don't find it.
Since MasterBrake (the original developers and marketers of BrakeSmart) appear to have gone under, a more attractive though more expensive alternative would be the Hensley (about $75 more).
Orphaned products, or nos products, pose other problems that I'd rather just not have.

Tnx,
Gottit - I think I might have had a stale cached copy of that page.
Anyway, the NEW price puts it about even with the Hensley, it was about $75 cheaper when MasterBrake was selling them. I don't get a warm feeling that it will still still be available "once current stocks are exhausted".

Location: Bolivar Tenn | You can get a brakeforce controller for about 60 $$ and it is what I use to pull a 25 foot stock trailer and two horse trailer and works good for me. you can get the wire hook up for that make of truck and plug it right in no wiring |
