Location: MO in woods | We are in Illinois an need new awaning also.I took old one off was ruined in storm while husband bringing trailer home,so was easy to remove.It was used already we planned on replacing anyway.Info please been looking on ebay with no luck yet, need 12 foot.Thanks Much |

Location: Coconut Creek, FL | One suggestion - they have made great improvements in awnings: ones that are easily operated by one person, have arms that don't have to be positioned so far down on the trailer (with the old style you have to walk around and can't go underneath the arm, and lastly they even dip down and let the water run off if too much collects. They probably cost a bit more, but what an improvement over the old style. I have friends that have one that is electrically operated. Now that's really nice, if ya got the bucks. |

Location: West TN | Most camping stores should be able to assist with this. Most RV's are made in the Middlebury Indiana area. Not sure how close you are to this area. There are alot of surplus RV supply stores in this area. You might be able to find a good deal on an awning there. |

Location: Home of Wild Turkey Whiskey | How far are you from Elkhart? If not so far rvsurplus.net has a number of surplus awnings right now. Trina quoted one yesterday to me 18' for $425.00 complete arms and all. They will not ship them. |

Location: Kansas City | You didn't say how fancy your trailer is or how big of an awning you wanted. You might consider an EZ up type tent/awning. The good ones (by EZ UP) are well made and you can move them from one side of the trailer to the other - depending on where you park. You can put them next to an arena if the sun is out or over a park table, etc. We use one and just anchor it to a tie ring on the trailer on windy days. I even park the horses under it at times. You can find them on EBAY for under $100. |

Location: West TN | The only problem with the EZ Up is that it will not shed water away from the trailer like an awning. We had some friends we used to camp with that used one all the time. They are no fun to take down when you have to pack up in the rain. Plus, you have to have place to store it. |

Location: Columbia, TN | You won't find a better deal than Camping World and if you watch their sale brochures they run installation specials $5.00 on awnings. The only problem is they usually don't have the ones with black in them in stock and have to order them. They usually have the maroon, blue, teal .Just call ahead and they will put it on while you wait. They have done 5 for me from 20 ft to 12 ft. |

Location: Maryland | I just had my awning repaired. If your roller is still good you can just replace the material. I went to my local rv dealer and ordered the awning material and they installed it. Wasn't that expensive. You can also get replacements parts for them. Cheaper than a totally new one. |

I am also researching awnings. Thanks for the info on this posting. Seems that most directions point to a Carefree awning. I found the Sundowner of Ohio site (which sells Carefree) on google. Picking it up would probably save a lot in shipping. Tho, I'm seeing several sites that say they won't ship. Anyone have experience with the Spirit FX model. Acrylic or Vinyl? They also had a number of Burgundy ones probley 12' The pewter ones were $425.00 complete with arms. these awning are new. They will not ship them. |

Location: Northern Utah | I suspect mine is just the simplicity model. there is no name or model info on the documentation that came with the trailer other than Carefree of Colorado. . Mine is 20' long. So it covers most the entire length of my box. It was a little confusing to set upt he first time, having no previous experience with awnings. But no big deal now that I've done it a few time. I've had pretty good snow and water loads on it. I use the awning to try and keep the ground outside the door and along side the trailer dry, so I don't track the mud in the trailer. So I leave it up even when storms threaten. Last falls Elk hunt found it with 6-8" of snow on it one morning. I've learned to make the angle a little steeper when a storm is coming. So the water doesn't puddle in it. |

Location: Tipton, IN | Do a yahoo phone search for Montpelier Indiana, and put in RV, maybe RV surplus. The name is Ickus RV surplus, but I am not sure of the spelling. They have 22-24ft for around $600 brand new. They are right on State Rd 18, just west of the Ohio border. If your looking at a map, go west from Lima in almost a straight line. I've never seen anybody sell parts cheaper. I bought my last pump from them fo like $30, when everybody else wanted $70-$100+. |
