Location: Sparta, WI | Looking to purchase a shower for soon to be living quarters trailer. However the problem I am running into is finding a shower that fits a 63degree corner. I have left several messages and either people are really busy and don't return calls or they don't need my $$. Can someone please help me locate a shower?

Location: Northern Utah | If you can't find a pre-formed fiberglass shower for that shape, you can look at building a custom shower. Purchase some sheets of fiberglass, glue them in place and just silicon the joints. You could also look into using a cultured marble product. It's a little thicker and heavier than the pre-formed fiberglass. Usually around 3/8" thick. The shops that build showers for homes just measure the diminsions of the shower and pour the cultured marble to those sizes. Then they just use a saw or grinder to do the final fit. It just glues up with a tile mastic. They can custom make a floor pan as well as the wall panels. It will cost more than a fiberglass shower. But they can fit it to any shape. |

Location: Chillicothe, Ohio | I went to a local metal fabrication shop and had them weld up a stainless steel shower pan to fit my odd corner shaped shower. They welded a 1-1/4 nipple in the bottom for the drain. I then purchased white coated aluminum sheet and had them bend 2 pieces for the walls..I used one of the roller shower doors that rolls up inside a rail on the side. Worked out great... |

Location: Home of Wild Turkey Whiskey | C&C Fiberglass builds a 1 piece shower for the slant walls in trailers they are located south of Elkhart and they will not ship one of them, You may have to road trip to get one or you can have DHL pick one of the up for you(you will then be responsable for damage not C&C) the shower is designed to for a Kiefer trailer, but I have made them work in 4-Stars, Sooners, and Elites |

| Taking ideas from those above .. I wonder if you could build it out of something easy to work with, like sheet metal and have the Line-X people spray it to seal it? |

Location: Northern Utah | I'm sure you could spray it with line X, But would it be the color or sexture of your choice. Usually shower you want a gloss finish so that you can clean the soap scum & hard water deposits off easier. A Line X surface would be really hard to keep the soap scum from collecting on. The other concern is waterproofing the joints. Since a trailer moves, shakes, vibrates. A one piece shower is the best at preventing leaks. Any other method of construction is prone to develop leaks and will need some kind of period inspection to make sure the silcone or other caulking is still water tite. |

Location: TX | What would be wrong with buying the one piece shower you can get at Lowe's or Home Depot? (if it didn't have to go in the slant area) I saw one yesterday that was 32" across the front. Would they be too heavy or what?

Location: Home of Wild Turkey Whiskey | I don't think it is a weight issue, The problem with the shower from Lowes or Home Depot is they are square and you give up to much floor space to use one. The shower I use in the trailers I build are designed to fit in the corner of the slant wall, you don't loose any floor space, and they are a good size shower, I am 6'1" and I have plenty of room in one. I can put a separate bathroom in an 8' shortwall trailer, with a couch or dinette and the wall that separates the bathroom will be straight with a pocket door, what you see most conversion shops doing is making that wall slant because they are using a neo-angle shower. If you slant that wall then you have to use a swing door that will always be in the way when open. |

Location: Home of Wild Turkey Whiskey | You can do a couple of things on holding tanks, if you have the space for them rvsurplus.net has holding tanks that are 15" wide 50 something inches long and 8 inches deep. I have used theese on trailers where I could, 4 Stars, Sooners and most cargo trailers can use theese tanks, But I also have tanks made out of aluminum Kiefer Built and some others have floor joist at 12" centers so I have them made 10" wide 8" deep on the deep end and the full width of the trailer makes for some real nice tanks, local sheet metal shop makes them for me for under $400. |

Location: Fort Madison, Iowa | I converted a corner closet into a shower and had another closet built next to the old one. I was lucky enough the person I had put one in was able to build a stainless steel shower pan himself where he worked. Sounds like he did it a lot like Martyg did. He had the pan come up high on the sides then put a panel that's waterproof over that. I then put a shower curtain over the door area so I'm able to use the same door I used on the closet. The whole project cost what a shower kit would have cost me. |
