Location: Colorado | Hi, Does anyone have a ballpark figure of how the weight of their trailer changed when they added the LQ? I weighed mine Friday with it fully loaded (goin' campin!) - carrying #350 of water. I don't mind adding another thousand # on finishing the interior, but that's as heavy as I want to go. Can it be done for that much weight? I know it adds up fast. Happy Trails, Michelle |

My previous Classic 3 horse Gooseneck weighed in at 5000#
My new Classic 3 horse gooseneck with a weekend package weighs just over 7000# according to the dealer. I've yet to run it across the scales. It is 4 feet longer and has the built in head mangers with storage under and a roof rack. It has a flushing toilet, shower, two propane tanks, two batteries with inverter, AC unit and heater.
Hope that gives you an idea. |

Location: Kaufman, Texas | Based on what I have heard, you can figure around 250 pounds additional weight for each foot of living quarters. So an 8 feet SW will add about 2,000 pounds. Hope this helps. |

Location: South Central OK | Spam, that all depends on what you think you'll want. I've seen trailers with all the goodies that would easily over shoot the 250 lb/ft. that Butch is speaking. If you are worried about weight and you know exactly what you want then I'd start shopping conversion companies with that in mind. Have a list of must's, nice's and never's with the weight clearly indicated and repeated several times in your "contract." Must's are what you can't live without. Nice's are exactly that, nice but not worth the weight if it comes down to it. Never's are things that you firmly don't want. If I were you I'd go see Jag interiors in OKC....I sent Butch there and he loves his! |

Location: PA | I agree with Huntseat. The weight depends on varying factors including refridgerator size, holding tank size, propane tank size, quality and quantity of cabinets, etc. The 250#/ft rule is very general. |

Location: Colorado | Thanks, everyone! That does help. Does anyone know how to interpret the weights that trailer manufacturers supply for LQ trailers? For example, the Trailswest site shows their LQ weighs about 9600# - my Trailswest LQ currently weighs about about 8,000# fully loaded up with horses, gear, water, etc. (keep in mind, it's a DIY on the same trailer model/size). Would the Trailswest spec. of 9600# be for a trailer that is empty (no water, horses, etc.) or is that the approx. full running weight? Thanks! Michelle |

Just PM me and I will give you my phone #. NO Spam - I looked at the Trails West and as I recall an 8' SW with LQs weighed about 9K pounds empty. They are all steel. My all aluminum weighs approx. 8K pounds. |
