We want to put bunks in our LQ. Foam is expensive and I think it's too hard. Twin air mattresses will be too wide. These sleeping pads look interesting

Have any of you tried anything like this?

I will use nothing else when we are tent camping. I don't how they would work in a bunk, but they should be fine. They are not terribly thick but when sleeping on the ground in a tent they are wonderful. just unroll them and open the valve and they inflate. Roll'em up when your done for storage. I would also look into Ebay for these, that's where I bought ours and they were a hell of alot cheaper. Hope this helps. If your still interested in looking for foam, have you tried your local fabric store?

Todd

I like the Thermarest pads when tent camping or backpacking, but I have a thick foam pad in the horse trailer. Call me a wimp! I got the foam from a futon dealer and they had several choices of thickness, size and firmness....all with differing prices. I sleep in my trailer about 30-40 days/year, so it was worth the added expense for me. One other thing about the futon foam...It came in 3 sections to equal a queen size mattress, and when I clean the trailer it's easy to get the individual pieces in and out of the gooseneck area. Sleep well!
