Location: Atlanta, GA | I am on my second Black trailer and with my experiance I use acid only on the mill finish and a mild soap on the black and have never had a problem. Be carefull with black and never ever use a RV brush on it it will scratch it! (did it)... I use a soft mit on mine to wash the black and very very seldom acid. You can use wax on the black to make it shine but again be careful and dont get the wax on the mill finish it will pit it ( get the wax dust off the mill finish as well ). Love my Black Elite wouldnt take nothing for it.. Good Luck |

| ASJ, would you recommend that way also to wash a white skinned aluminum trailer. I was also wondering about taking it in to acid wash, figured it would not be good for the white part of the trailer. What about the stainless on the nose of the gooseneck? debbie |

Location: Gilroy Ca | FWIW There is no need to acid wash a black or white aluminum trailer, just a good quality soap and wax/polymer combo works best...here is a little tip for the guys/gals that have bare aluminum trailers...after the acid wash process try using a rag or towel soaked in WD40 to wipe down the aluminum, it will give it that new luster look and WD40 is not a lubricant but a penetrant that will dry after a couple hours. WD40 also helps prevent oxidation especially after an acid wash which strips the metal completely. There are other products on the market that accomplish the same result but are more expensive... |

Location: oklahoma city, okla. | Did you get your black skin cleaned?biggest problem is getting the water spots off . black is hard to clean. you don't need acid besides evertime you acid wash you lose a little metal. that's why they say you shouldn't acid wash more than twice a year. |

| I like EQ Solutions products for my trailers and truck:Truck & Trailer Wash, and the Red Kwik Wash for aluminum is a mildly acidic wash that is safe to use, won't pit and will keep it bright. |
