Hi, We have just bought ourselves a used Dream Coach trailer which already has the rv style ac installed along with the electric converter and several outlets already wired up. But the old cabinetry has been removed leaving the outlets and box ready to be put back however we want. So we are looking at a blank slate to make the front be a weekender style trailer. We will be building the cabinets and doing all the work ourselves.
But my big question is how to properly attach the furring or wood strips to the aluminum wall studs?
The ceiling is already insulated but the walls are not so we will be doing that and then adding the wood furring strips to the studs to be able to make the cabinets. Ive been checking out other people's diys but none seem to address how to attach the wood.

Location: Florida		Use a stainless steel, flat head (self tapping if possible) screw to attach the furring strips.
I used 1x3’s (vs 1x2’s) at the top and where the bottom of the cabinets will be to provide additional strength for hanging them. Use a good deep thread screw thru the top and bottom of the cabinet strips into the furring strips to hang them. If your lucky to have the cabinet pass over an aluminum upright, go all the way from the cabinet, thru the furring strips and into the aluminum upright when possible.
Pay attention to your screw lengths to optimize strength without going too far.
