| I am looking for a used 2h bumper pull and came across a 2004 Sundowner Sunlite 777 that meets my requirements. I know that there were issues with Sundowners with the frame and floor and the 2004 model is within that time frame. Does this issue affect ALL trailers, or is it hit and miss? The seller assures me that the floor and frame are just fine but before I make the 3.5 hour drive to look at it, I was hoping someone here could enlighten me. Thanks | |

Location: Tenn/Ala. | This would be a trailer to check thoroughly. You will see examples that are in great shape, and you will see ones needing massive repairs. Realize it is 15 years old. On this trailer look at the steel frame underneath, including the rear main cross piece, for steel flaking off. Then, lift the mats and see if the floor is SunCoated still (a spray on bedliner). If it is, check for lifting of the Suncoat, and any potential corrosion on the floor where urine has gotten trapped under the liner. As a general rule, we remove the Suncoat from the floor when we find it. That way you can see, clean, & inspect the aluminum floor. | |
