Wanted thoughts about purchasing a 1990 4 star 6 horse head to head. Trailer is in good shape EXCEPT. An I-Beam in between the two tires has a giant crack right by the bolts. So my question is. Is this something that can be fixed? Is it worth it and is it safe? I'm located in GA so if it was possible to fix would have to find someone close to North West GA

Almost anything can be fixed... One question is cost of repair relative to the value of the trailer...so how cheap is the trailer you are looking at? The more important questions are how and why did that beam crack in the first place?

Paul is correct on both accounts. But then again, after 26 years things can happen. It is quite likely able to get it at least back as it was, and if that can get you another 10-15 years, then it will be quite old.
For what it is worth, we here at Select Trailer have done structural and collision repairs for many years. Feel free to touch base with Roger at 931-685-4040. He may be able to tell you something from a good picture, but it will also be necessary to look farther from the crack. Cracks generally happen because something was shifting or flexing, and that needs to be addressed at the same time. But there's a good chance it can be made to give more years of service.
