Location: canada		I finally found a place where the ground was truly level. My tow vehicle is a truck w/truck camper - I put a level on the inside floor of the camper and it read level. Put the level on the nose of my trailer while hitched w/my current hitch and it was definitely lower than level. How do I measure to find out how much rise I will need in a new hitch? Would I jack up the trailer nose until it's where I want it then measure from the base of the ball up into the top inside of the socket?

Location: Vermont		Normally trailer coupler height is around 17 inches, from the ground to the bottom of the coupler, and most hitch manufacturers design their hitches to work with a ball mount that will end up very close to this measurement. You will need to measure from the ground to the top of the hitch opening to determine the exact height and the correct rise or drop ball mount you will need.
