The shower drain is clogged, I've worked at it w/a plunger several times and each time it will drain for a few seconds then stop again. Is it safe to use commercial drain opener chemical products in that shower drain, or what else can I do? Thanks!

You can purchase an inexpensive "snake" at most home and hardware stores. If you can get the cover plate off the drain, you will usually find hair and other contaminates clogging the drain. A bent hook made of wire, can be used to extract most of the visible materials. Any liquid drain cleaner you try to use, should be specifically made for plastic pipes.
