Location: Vermont | A surprise truck inspection blitz was conducted in Nebraska on Tuesday which saw state troopers place 43% of the vehicles they inspected out of service. It’s enforcement blitz season, with the International Roadcheck right around the corner, but State Troopers in Nebraska are getting a head start. Without announcing anything, Nebraska State Highway Patrol and Lincoln police conducted inspections on CMVs on Tuesday, inspecting a total of 104 vehicles.Of those 104, 48% were declared out of service due to violations. In fact, a total of 384 violations were documented. That’s an average of 3.7 violations per inspection! In addition to the vehicles, 4 drivers were placed out of service for not having a valid commercial driver’s license.During inspections, drivers racked up a total of $7,315 in fines.Officials say they will continue to carry out additional surprise inspections to target commercial vehicles that would not normally pass through a weigh station on their route. |

Location: South Central OK | The state of OK is building a new weight station just north of Madill on I-35. Local law enforcement says the reason is that the weight station about 20 north of the new location allowed truckers to "drive around" it or drop their loads and return to north Texas over loaded. |

Location: AZ | So, how many of the violations were for your average 'Joe and Jane' driver who do not haul commercially but happen to have a big truck? Here in AZ, a 1-ton truck is a 'commercial' vehicle...has to have 'commercial' tags and pay the 'commercial rates' on registration because it has the 'potential' to haul xx,xxxK pounds. The driver does not have to have a CDL unless they are a business entity or work for a business. Also, there are trucks that are rated under 26,000K towing capacity, delivery trucks...FL's..etc...that you do not have to have a CDL to drive as long as you are not a business. Talk about 'Revenue Enhancement'. Go Huskers. |

Location: Omaha nebraska | This is done on a routine basis by joint Law enforcement agencies ,their logic behind this is too check local trucks that normally don't cross the scales. Garbage trucks, local delivery vehicles, construction and farm vehicles etc. |
