Almost done with my ramp replacement project. Shame on Logan for using OSB plywood! I've got all the rotten wood chiseled out and all the bolts removed. Sanded, primer and paint is all done. I was going to buy a piece of 3/4 marine plywood but I have some nicely seasoned oak and old-growth fir. They are planks about three feet wide. It's rough sawn and none of it is wide enough but would it be possible to use two pieces and something to waterproof and seal it? Would solid wood be better than plywood? I also removed all the caulk from the trailer and replaced it with a roof sealant recommended for RV's. Should I use that around the edges? Of the two, which would be better Oak or Fir?
