Location: FREEPORT,PA | hey all, i have a 2007 ram 1500 quad cab with an automatic, 4x4 hemi 5.7 engine. right now i'm pulling a older steel 3 horse slat with a small tack room(3500 lbs plus horses). looking to move up to a goose neck with a small living quarters. my truck pulls trailer fine now, will this truck pull a 2 horse goooseneck? id like to upgrade truck as well, but one step at a time. only go to local shows, 100 miles radius tops |

Location: NC | i would think it would be difficult to find a good 2 horse trailer with a living quarters for your truck to STOP. Im sure it could pull a trailer but safety is first and stopping a larger trailer may require a larger truck. be sure to check your trucks ratings and the numbers on any trailers you consider should fit comfortably in the range not pushing it. good luck! |

Location: Lawrence KS | I think you will easily outweigh the towing capacity of the 1/2 ton with 2 horses and a living quarters. 1/2 ton might be ok to move the empty trailer around. Biggest problem you will encounter is being able to stop safely, even with trailer brakes. I think you would be better off with a 3/4 t and then upgrading the trailer. A diesel engine would be even better yet. |

Location: Vermont | Stopping is NOT the real issue...if you have good trailer brakes...the real issue is PIN weight on that 1/2 ton pickup's rear axle...you will more than likely be over either the Rear GAWR and or the tires load capacity... |
