Getting ready to order a new trailer, and was wondering what's the difference and benefit of a stainless nose versus aluminum? Is worth the extra money, or is it just for looks? Thanks in advance.

The stainless is worth the additional expense. It will protect the skin underneath. It is less affected by erosion than the aluminum, and it will be easier to maintain as far as looks are concerned. It will add glamour as well as functionality. I would inspect another similar installation by the same company. If the edges of the stainless aren't completely sealed to the aluminum skin, trapped water between the two metals will quickly corrode the metals. There should be a complete seal around the entire metal's perimeter.

also just to add my two cents. the stainless is easier to clean splattered bugs off of, and it is also stronger than the aluminum so will prevent dents from bugs and even birds that get too brave. Plus it does look nice.

In my experience, stainless steel noses are s/s skin, mounted directly to the aluminum (or steel as the case may be) posts. It isn't an overlay. And it is always either taped or heavily caulked so there won't be any electrolysis. So you can remove that concern from the equation.

FWIW- After scraping bugs off of it for 10+ years, a s/s nose will look better than a painted one.

Have had both. White skin on nose is not a good idea. Dents easily, will show bugs really bad that are harder to remove, scratches easily and shows any ripple.
Will not go back to anything but stainless.
Good luck.
