Location: Columbia, KY | I'm considering buying another trailer- haven't seen it in person yet. The seller said the roof leaked down the shower wall and onto the floor. They've resealed the roof, removed the shower and water heater, torn up all the old flooring and now it's ready for a new floor. What's the best thing to put down? I'm thinking plywood with vinyl on top? any tricks or little details I need to know? Thanks! |

Location: western PA | You could apply sleepers, insulation and plywood to create a flooring, upon which any finishing could be applied. It's somewhat labour intensive, but works well. There is a product called DRIcore, that comes in 2' x 2' interlocking panels. It is made just for that purpose, and is only 3/4" thick. Once quickly installed, any type of finish flooring can be fitted; vinyl, laminate or wood. Not only does it provide a subflooring surface, but insulates and prevents moisture from attacking the interior surface. Home Depot and other lumber yards commonly sell the product. |
