| We are selling a trailer (no I'm not making a post to advertise that fact) and along with the expected angst of ?? that one gets from such an undertaking, one that keeps coming up from Facebook is: "what does the trailer weigh?" I realize that on some titles, there is an 'unladen weight' listing, and on this particular trailer, that states "10000" unladen weight.I have tried explaining to some that a trailer metal tag or label won't have the actual curb weight-but,is the unladen weight on a title the true unloaded weight of that trailer from the manufacturer? some of you guys know me from over time on here, and know that a trailer's weight matched with the tow vehicle,is an issue to me of importance,so,I wouldn't want to mislead anyone by telling them "Hey,it's 10,000 lbs empty." Thanks for helping out! |

| Yeah, and,I knew that Paul, thanks anyway. There are no scales like that near us.most places with scales around here (grain elevators) will not allow anything except paying customers on their scales-i.e.,trucks loaded with grain. |

Location: Missouri | I would not trust the title for weight. It's probably going to be a "calculated" weight, not actual weight. As for the grain scales. Have you talked to them? I've used the MFA scales many times on Sunday when they're closed, they leave the scale on and it can be viewed through the window. Other option would be to pay them to weight. |

Location: North Carolina | Any truck stops on the highways around you ? Several of the local truck stops have scales. For about $10 , they'll measure steer, drive and trailer axle weights. or try this link >>> http://catscale.com/cat-scale-locator |

| common sense ought to tell folks, hey,I can probably pull that thing with a 3/4T,stopping it fully loaded might be a problem.I have been telling those who ask, what we pull it with.If they are undertrucked, maybe they should look into a different trailer.Guess my nerves are short dealing with women asking the weight of this trailer-and I'd say 10K would be pretty close, loaded, add another 4K to 5K with horses, tack, etc. |

Location: Missouri | And there in lies your problem......common sense is very lacking in society today. I blame all the safety features that used to weed out the stupid. |

| I contacted 4Star today and talked with engineering and parts/maintainence about our particular trailer.since the tag is missing from it,they were able to tell me with the VIN #,that the trailer does weigh 10K empty, and the GVWR of it is 14,350.4Star is a great company,I really appreciate their folks there.Very helpful about this. |
