Hi all - my 2 way fridge seems to only get cold off my trailer battery. I can't really tell when I turn it on which system it is working on - but I find out when my battery dies the next day that it's not on the propane. So question - should it turn on (on propane) if the MAIN battery switch is OFF? Cuz that would be a sure indicator that it is not using the battery (however, it won't turn on if I do that). How do I know which system it is using (propane vs. battery). It JUST had it's yearly service and the dealership said everything is fine. I'm about to take it back. I've never had the need to use the fridge but would like to use it on an upcoming trip.Thanks.

Your fridge will only work on battery if the switch is set to battery...and that draws way to much juice for normal operation. The fridge will only operate on propane if the propane is turned on and the switch is turned to gas and you ignite the pilot light. I assume you have a sparker to do that???? Make and model number would help.
The dc operation is intended to keep the fridge cool only while travelling, not to be the main power source.
