Location: Illinois | We have our insurance with State Farm. We're trying to find out what's covered. We ask them if our tack is covered, our agent says "should" be under our homeowners. Then another lady called from SF and she said it "should" be covered with our trailer insurance. No one can give us answers just "should be". Then I've heard if truck isn't hooked up to trailer things might not be covered. We can't get any answers. We're ready to shop around. Who do you have your insurance with? Thanks and Happy Trials. |

Location: NY | I have my trailer insurance with farm family From what I know and was told that if the truck is not hooked to the trailer and it should some how cause or get damage then the truck insurance do not work any tack in the trailer would not be covered unless you had it listed on the policy this is what I was told |

Ask for a copy of your policy related ONLY TO THE TRAILER...if you don't have one, then your trailer is probably only covered when connected to your tow vehicle... |

Location: Texas | Yes, I have a separate policy besides my truck insurance for the trailer. I have Progressive, a value on trailer(s) and then value on the contents , and premium based on values. Covers theft of trailer if connected to truck or not |

Location: Illinois | We have trailer insured with it's own policy which is little over $400 a year.. When we asked about the coverage they sent us this pamphlet for rv campers that says nothing. Would just like to know in case we have a claim then it's a fight to get things settled. Don't like things being left up in the air.

It's a contract that binds the insur co to specific actions to perils. If not in the policy, it's not covered. |

Location: northeast Texas | We have State Farm and our LQ trailer is insured there also. We are in Texas. It may be different in other states. I would call the home office or go by your local agent. I have had 2 claims on the trailer. First was a total from a wreck. They paid more than we gave for the totaled trailer and claim settled fairly quickly. Then we had to replace LQ floor due to water damage. Handled by repair facility and settled quickly and paid for full damage and replacement of floor. BUT, State Farm will not cover RV awnings. Theft and all perils are covered whether hooked up or not. Liability coverage comes through your tow vehicle. Also your contents are not covered. That will be covered by your homeowners or you need a seperate contents policy for that. Perhaps on a "farm policy". |

Location: Hartsville, SC | Does cost of trailer insurance go up if you file a claim? Has anyone had an awning disintegrate on top part? Will they pay for that? Thank you. (State Farm) |
