I was having trouble removing the light covers in our "new to us" 2006 Hart with Outlaw LQ. The lights in question are the flush mounted, 10 W quartz light fixtures (with double pin bulbs) which under normal circumstances, the light ring with glass lens comes off with some upward pressure and about an 1/8 twist to the left.

I was successful on removing 2 of the 5 light covers by "palming" the light and twisting, but three of the lights proved to be impossible to remove using this technique. Rather than break out the hard tools (vise grips or a screwdriver), I went to the trusty roll of duct tape (duck tape) and tore off a 6" strip. I laid the strip over the light cover and lens with an inch or so hanging over each edge, gently twisted to the left and each of the three stubborn lights came out with no resistance!

I have fought these types of lights before in our house but am glad to have discovered a much easier way to remove the covers.

Have a great day javascript:smilie('50','');

Regards, 3C/W

Good idea .... I've used a rubber jar lid opener with good success too.
