Can anybody give me any information or experience with a Barrett LQ trailer? I'm looking at one online but never seen one. How are they built, how do they last, why did they quit building LQ trailers? Anything you know would help.

Barrett has primarily been manufacture for semis. They have built horse trailers for the pick up world under several names. Most for small companies who did not have their own manufacturing plant. Nicholes is one that comes to mind.I can't speak about the LQ portion of the trailer. But the outside trailer in general have always been heavy duty.

Agree with previous post but would add that they are not as "refined" as some like in the horse trailer world.
As far as a "ranch" or "stock" trailer, would be difficult to find one heavier/better built. But they are heavy. We had one years ago to haul buffalo in and it held up very well!

I ride with a man and he has one, ordered it new in 1977, I think? And I'd buy it in a minute. He camps at least 2 times per month, so it's been really used. He did do the LQ himself. But you would tn know that either!

Well I just got home with my new (used) Barrett am and very happy with the way it looks. Needs some minor repairs and a good cleaning and will be ready to hit the road and the back country with it. It does appear to be well built and it pulled very nice coming home. Thanks for all your comments.
