Location: Texas | Since this was from 7 years ago, is this still the best way to clean the aluminum floor, or are there new products to use. And I was told sprinkle with baking soda before replacing mats??........ http://www.horsetrailerworld.com/forum/thread-view.asp?threadid=806... |

Location: western PA | Muriatic acid still works well to clean, stop corrosion and etch the aluminum. The newer acids are being sold as low odor, but still are far from being odor free. There are newer bed liner products now available. A friend of ours used a Rustoleum product on a ground driven manure spreader. It was just done recently, so it's difficult to say how good the product will be for long term durability. We continue using Duplicolor products and people still are having good luck with the Herculiner. I've heard some negative results about the Rust-Oleum rattle can applications, but can't comment on any personal knowledge of the product. The sticky threads are still relevant today, as far as the application process is concerned. The materials' availability and pricing have changed to many auto parts and some big box stores. |

Location: Texas | Stopped by our local trailer dealership and they did the acid cleaning on the floor while I waited. The rice quote was not much more than I could have bought the stuff to do myself, and I did not have to deal with the product! |

They acid washed your trailer's floor for $7.50 ? They did it for free. :-) (I bought the trailer from them) But before they said "no charge", the quote they gave me was cheap enough and worth not dealing with it. |

Location: Oregon | This may be a bit off topic, so feel free to move my post if you wish. I am about to have my 4 horse LQ acid washed for the first time at a truck washing facility. I'm thinking I need the inside acid washed as well as the outside. The stall dividers have fabric cushions mounted. Would the acid wash adversely affect these items? |

Location: Rocky Mount N.C. | Good luck getting the inside washed... My truck stop guys wouldn't wash the inside of our trailers even though we had washed and scrubbed all the dirt/poop/hay/etc. out already. They said they would clean it then backed out of the deal when I got there, said it was some enviromental deal.... They were more than happy to take my money and do the outside though. |
