Location: rootstown | hi. I am ordering a Lakota Charger and have a few questions for folks that may have some experience in this department. Recently I saw a 6'9" advertised with mangers. I really want mangers but I am concerned about it being too small for my 15.3 hand TWH. That dealer told me this is one of their best selling trailers and the dealer I am ordering thru discouraged me from it saying it would adversely affect resale. I can't get the 8 ft wide because of the weight it adds. Next, slide or no slide? I love the extra space but you sacrifice most of the cabinets. I'm also curious if people have any many problems with the slides - it seems like one more thing that can break. Lastly, I have read lots of conflicting info about Lakota's in general but I have already decided that is what I am getting and the contract has already been signed, just tweaking the options a bit. Any tips for things I should check before I get the unit? I have never ordered a new trailer before, always bought used. Other than basic stuff that is obvious, what hidden things should I check. The dealer says they check everything over but I live quite a way from the dealer and am hoping to not have to return it for repairs/problems. Do they work with other RV dealerships if there is a problem or do you have to take it back to them. Thanks!!! Happy trails. |

Location: suffolk | Check out the New Kiefer all aluminum trailer, the quality of Living LQ interior are close the some cheaper Lakota's. |

Location: rapid city sd | if you are putting an lq and mangers 8 wide, 8 wide, you will kill the resale w/6'9. No slide if weight is an issue. Don't put mangers and lq in a 6'9" |

Location: Ohio | We ordered our Lakota over two years ago, great trailer and love it still. Would buy again. If you can't do a slide, get 8ft wide. Agree that it will help resale. We have an 8ft with slide, would not have one without it but we pull with a 350 dually.
One thing we put in our goose neck was a tray ceiling. Much easier to sit up and not hit your head. We had the step into the LQ made bigger (deeper). Makes it less likely to trip. We put a bower latch on the escape door and we use the horse area for a garage when we camp. Just sweep up the manure and put a tarp down. Gives you a lot more room and the escape door is nice for brining the dogs in with muddy feet.

Location: Central Arkansas | I have a 8 wide Lakota with mangers. Hubby's 16.3H QH and my stocky 15.2H TWH have plenty of room. Go for the 8' wide since it has much better resale.
