Location: Pennsylvania | Forgive me for my ignorance.. But what exactly is their purpose? The electric in my LQ trailer will only work if plugged in to an electrical outlet OR plugged into my truck.. So what exactly are the trailer batteries doing? |

Location: Rocky Mount N.C. | Do you have a hydraulic or electric trailer jack? Do you have load lights, lights in the horse area, 12 volt light all about? Do you have a water pump for the toilet, shower sink? etc.... There should be a switch somewhere that switches from d/c power to a/c power.. Are the batteries hooked up? Are they charged up fully? Is the inverter working correctly? Sure the batteries are in the battery box, someone may have stolen them!! What kind of LQ trailer do you have, and who is the LQ mfg.? |

Location: western PA | The batteries will run your lights and any accessories that are 12V activated. Fridge, water heater, furnace etc. They eliminate the problem of having to use a shore cord and a converter to furnish 12V to your LQ. If your batteries are charged and not working, I would look for a battery master switch and turn it on. They will power most of the accessories except the heavy draw units like an AC or microwave. Your shore cord is attached to a converter that results in outputs of 110 V and 12V. The 12V is fed directly into a buss that supplies the system and is also used to charge the batteries. If your batteries are dead, and there is no DC voltage coming from the converter, a fuse is commonly used on the "box" that protects the converter from shorts or reverse currents. This may be blown. Start with the batteries and confirm they are charged. Make sure the battery switch is on. Try an interior light and if it's not working, you have a mechanical problem with a switch, wiring or a connection. If the batteries are always dead, look at the converter for a fuse and check its DC output. It should be working, since your interior lights are illuminating whilst using shore power. |

Location: Pennsylvania | Thanks everyone for the replies! I just purchased this trailer so that is why I am not extremely familiar with it yet (also my first LQ trailer).
It is an Elite Mustang that had a LQ conversion professionally put in. It has lots of lights (inside LQ area as well as outside of trailer and in horse area). Also has a fridge, microwave, sink (with water pump). No hot water heater though.
The battery is indeed there (the box actually has a lock on it to prevent anyone stealing it) and it does seem to be fully charged. I found a switch on the inside that turns the water pump on--but so far have not found the switch to turn the battery on. I am thinking that may be my problem: just haven't located that switch yet. Will be looking further into that tonight!
Other question: how long (if fully charged) will these batteries run for (without being plugged in)? Lets say just using minimal stuff such as some lights, etc.

Location: Grayson Co. Texas | Check the box that locks where the batteries are. Hopefully the switch is between the batteries that say on/off...good luck |

Location: Pennsylvania | Searched last night.. Still no luck finding that button to switch to battery power... The power/conversion board has both breakers and DC power fuses.. So surely it is wired to run off of the battery? Guess I better just call the previous owner today! |
