Hi,
I recently purchased a 1989 Chapparal 3h slant, mid tack, LQ gooseneck trailer. It's in fantastic shape and the previous owner said he contacted someone and was told the trailer weighed 5680 lbs. I haven't been able to weigh it yet and I've been looking for the metal tag on the trailer, no luck. Anyone have an idea who else I can contact or look?
Thanks!

Best find a scale at an elevator or truck stop and weigh it.  You will not likely find a tag on this or any other trailer with the empty weight.  If you find some numbers on a tag, you are looking at the GVWR or the GAWR, pertaining to the axle capacity.  In some rare cases, a manufacturer will list the load capacity, but the best thing for you to know is how that load capacity was determined.  Was it the GVWR less the weight of the trailer, or was it the GVWR + ?% less the weight of the trailer.

Thank you. I figured I'd have to weigh it empty at our feed mill but was just curious.
