| I am looking at purchasing a free standing generator for my 2000 Sundowner LQ. We are currently looking at the Black Max 7000 watts with electric start (Honda gas engine) from Sams. Also looking at the Gentron PROPANE 7,500 watts with electric start- also from Sams... basically the same price... Any thoughts from anyone as to which one might be the better deal- I know that the propane would be better, not only for fuel efficiency but maintenance. The only thing is hauling around extra propane bottles for generator, and how close can this be located to the generator... looking at placing generator underneath nose of trailer.... Please give thoughts/concerns/opinions... lots of $ to be spent for this, hopefully make the right choice. Thanks! |

| A 4000 watt generator will provide the 30 amps that your trailer is likely wired for. And they usualy won't fit under the neck of the trailer. Are you sure you are shopping for the proper size? One that large usually is mounted on roof, or maybe in rear tack. |

| Okay- I need to clarify- this generator will be free standing, not mounted under the nose of my trailer, I'll either have it in the rear tack, on the ground at the the rear tack or on the ground underneath the nose... depending on noise level... |

Location: Penrose, Colorado | while both of these will run your trailer, they are on the large side and both of them are going to be very noisy, look at a honda 3000 or a 3500 champion these will not keep the neighbors up all night. |

Location: Mena, AR | I purchased the Dometic LW3000 Plus for my trailer because it was suppose to be strong enough to run AC and microwave. I never got any further that putting it together and running it for awhile. Then I sold my trailer and the purchaser also purchased the generator from me. (new trailer has built in gen) They used it this summer to run the AC in the trailer for several days when the power went out at their home. They gave it good reviews. It weights in at about 60lbs and is pretty easy for me to lift and it has wheels like a suitcase. It comes with a charger cable you can just plug into the wall to charge it. I thought that was pretty cool.http://www.dometic.com/enus/Americas/USA/RV-Products/Generators/Products/?productdataid=95192 |

Location: Rocky Mount N.C. | Cowgirl46.... Do you know how loud 78 decibels is...?? Hope you're not planning on doing any sleeping when you got it running, no one within 500 yards will be sleeping either.. Would be as if you were trying to sleep with a vaccum cleaner running next to your head. |

Had one with a gen. mounted there, like to have killed us with the gases coming thru the windows, doors and slide out... Look in the search on this site, you maybe able to find more details..

Location: Rayne, LA | I have a Honda EU3000is and a pair of the Honda EU2000 with the EU2000 companion with the 6 gallon aux fuel tank. Depending on what we are doing I decide which one/ones to bring. This past weekend we went with the wagon so I brought the 2000's so I could split them to have a heater on the wagon. They run the complete trailer just fine and run for many hours on a little fuel with VERY LITTLE noise and are light to handle. The 3000 is easier if I want to deal with just one that can run all night on a single tank of fuel and also is VERY QUIET. I am a big believer in Honda generators |

Location: md | I have a honda 3000, chained in the truck bed, by head wall. I leave it there. I have never run at all night with current set up. |
