Location: W Warwick RI | Well I spoke with a Hawk rep at Equine Affair. If I can get my trailer from New England to the factory in Wisconsin, Hawk will resheet my trailer for $500.00. The stripes are peeling off. I am not too happy about this offer. |

Location: W Warwick RI | Car decal place...great idea. I was not pleased with the offer, especially since the rep told me that my trailer was one of 2 years production that had that issue. They should fix it totally at their expense. |

Location: western PA | EBay has a large selection of various trailer graphics. They are a fraction of the cost of OEM replacements and are not difficult to install. |

Risa from Hawk is a regular poster on Chronicle of the Horse - go to that forum and post your issue and maybe she can help Hi Dunoir1 and all! Dunoir1 thanks for thinking of me, I am Happy Trails Trailers & Balanced Ride Trailers, I have been a dealer for Hawk for 17 years but do not actually work for Hawk, wish I could help! I understand that it was figured at some point that the manufacturer of painted aluminum sheet had some coating issue, IE there was some coating problem that prevented the Dupont urethane paint used at Hawk at the time from completely adhering for the long term, the stripes peeling usually started well after the paint warranty was over... Hawk did change aluminum suppliers and paint suppliers trying to get to the bottom of the issue. For original owners ( and now maybe others it appears ) Hawk did offer to totally re skin an entire trailer for $500 if it was scheduled and brought to the factory, so if a person has peeling stripes from that time frame their trailer would again be made to look new but they would have to get it there. Trailer warranty is an interesting thing, they are all "limited". Some very limited, as a smaller manufacturer Hawk feels they have voluntarily offered what they can. That is my understanding of it... I did speak with Hawk when I read the initial posting. Thank You Risa Balanced Ride Trailers Happy Trails Trailers |

Location: Rayne, LA | Do I understand resheeting ( reskinning ) the entire exterior of the trailer for $500.00. If so this sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Am I thinking wrong? |

That is correct, I am sure they are loosing on the deal figuring labor and material but they will do it for original owners even though it is not a warranty or under their control.... and maybe for 2nd owners but I would want to verify that, they want all their trailers rolling along looking pretty! Location: TN | I think that is a hell of a good offer from Hawk, no matter how you look at it! That is at least a 8 year old trailer. Who offers to warrenty stripes that long?
OP should be happy with what Hawk offered her and take it without complaining! |
