Dont want to sound like a smart a--    But both steel and aluminum frames can be poorly engeneered and built, or engeneered and built well.    More depends on the skill of the manufacturer than the material.

Some brands have been known to have rusting issues with steel frames.  Of course it would add some weight to the trailer with a steel vs aluminum frame.  For a bumper pull or smaller GN run around type trailers I don't think it  matters much. We have had several aluminum with steel floors, some with aluminum floors and some with wood floors.  Never had any issues that we knew of.   You see all kinds of combinations.   When you get up into a LQ we have always bought all aluminum.
