Location: Pleasant Plain, Ohio 45162 | We are planning on a trip possibly to Caney Mountain in the spring and was wondering how windy and steep the last six miles of road is getting into Caney Mountain. Is it paved or gravel and how wide is it? I know they say it takes about 45 minutes to drive it. I have a crew cab dually with a 27' box on the trailer. |

Location: Rayne, LA | I went look at the place while at the Chuck Wagon races Labor day week end. With just my truck the last seven miles took 35 minutes. It is not extremely steep but narrow and many curves. In one spot you the owner showed us a spot where a feller with a 45 ft trailer barely made it, but he did. I also am planning a trip there either in the spring or fall and can't wait to se the trails. The pictures he showed us look great. He likes to ride and sounds like he will ride with you if you ask him. I figure on planning an hour for the last seven miles with the trailer. Also when someone leaves he heads out first to stop any oncoming traffic. |

Location: Grapeland, Texas | We rode there last year in April. Yes the road was kind of scary going in but for some reason coming out didn't seem near as bad. I think it took us about 45 min. to get back there but we ran into some kids that were broke down in their pickup. They pushed the truck over so we could get by. We do have a smaller trailer, 25' box. Didn't get to stay long enough but really enjoyed the riding and the hosts. They are great people. Want to go back. |

| would that be Bootsy that you are talking about? He is the guide,I think maybe Helen (Elsner) also does some guide trips up at that camp.I have never been on the road back to the camp,and,with our rig,I don't want to ever try going back there but I imagine it's worth it when one does.Some breathtaking views of the Buffalo River Valley.Shelton's Big Flat is not too far away,but,guides need to be lined up before if one isn't comfortable going out on the unmarked trails or is proficient with a GPS. All of this area is some spectacular and challenging trail riding. Nothing can compare,to me,with the white-knuckle trip down the mountain from Jim's to Jasper,though.(In the truck.)

Location: Grapeland, Texas | Charles, Teresa and Bootsie. Teresa is a great cook if you want her to cook for you. Bootsies wife also helped cook when we were there, can't remember her name tho. Bootsie is a character! Honor, you shouldn't have any problem getting in, you are just 2 ft longer than we are. It's worth it. The only complaint I have is the ticks were awful. This was in late April. They said the mild winter they had didn't help with the tick problem. Maybe if you go early in the spring they won't be to bad. But every where we rode in April, Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma, had lots of ticks. |

Location: Brooksville, Fl | Caney is a wonderful campground. The hosts couldn't be nicer. We felt like we were leaving family behind when we left. The trails are beautiful and can be as easy or as hard as you would like. Just let Bootsie or Charles know what you would like to ride and they will deliver. Cheryl is Bootsie's wife and she is a lovely person too. We have a 27ft (floor) trailer and did not have problems getting in. It took about 45 minutes to drive the road which is a gravel forest road. Call ahead and Charles will be sure no one is leaving as you are coming in. You will have a great time! |

Location: Tionesta PA | We stopped in at Caney Mt on our way home from TX in April. It took 1 hour to get the whole way back, about 8 miles (?) and our trailer is 29' box.The trails are rugged!! Coming from PA I am somewhat accustomed to it but I would guess this is the toughest trails I have seen, even compared to CO and WY.Beautiful, though. Super nice folks. |
