Location: East Tennessee, USA, Planet Earth | I haul my bumper pull trailer with my RV.
My RV is 30 amp, can I use an adapter plug onto my 30amp cord and plug into a 50 amp electric post?
I will need electric for heat when I horse camp in November. THANKS! |

Location: Richmond, Ky | just be careful and don't get crazy using too much electric, your wire more than likely is only good for 30a. and you can draw 50a. thru it. Unless you have a 30A. main circuit breaker in the elect. box. |

Actually not accurate. The 50 amp services have 4 wires (2 hot legs, 1 nuetral, 1 ground), 30 have 3 (1 hot, 1 nuetral, 1 ground). The extra wire is another 110 leg- Just like a dryer plug. When you use the adapter, most only draw from one side. Use all the power you want, no worries. |

Location: Texas | Most camps I have been to, if they do have 50A, they also have a 30A plug. Not often I have seen one with just a 50A |

Location: Ohio | The only thing that will really pull a great deal of amps is your AC. Go ahead and use lights, furnace heater all you want. All these should be available to you even if you were on battery. TV's, AC, microwave and refrigerator are really the only things that require AC. Most of those don't pull huge amounts of electricity. I would not try to use the AC, microwave at the same time you plug in a toaster though. That can over due your line. |

Location: Brooksville, Fl | I keep an adapter because I was camping once and the 30amp plug in was broken. Had to use the 50amp with adapter. I ran my unit as if I was only drawing 30amps. No problems. |
