Thanks for answering. I am not with them but here is the description:Cranked to the top and won't crank down. I am calling the "jack" the leg that the trailer rests on the ground.Thanks for the help. Yes it is a gooseneck

I'm sure that we have some on here who might be better educated on this, but my guess is that you may need to figure how to relieve the weight/pressure on the jack to get it to release back down past that top notch. maybe with some sort of floor jack. But I'm just not sure....

Recently the front of my trailer found a ditch that been backfilled and compacted 7 months ago. The jack pad sunk around 18 inch's in to the abyss. I used a floor jack rated at 6000 lbs and 36 inch piece of 3 x 12 Douglas fir to span the crater caused by the sinking trailer, I jacked the trailer up using the Douglas fir as a support for the jack pad. I then then backed my truck under the trailer and moved to a better location. l believe if you block the tires, release the ball in your hitch, then use a floor jack you can move your truck out from under the trailer. You also should consider using jack stands while your jack is being repaired.

I just reread this post...you first need to unbolt the tube on the gooseneck to take the weight of the truck off the jack...then uncouple the hitch from the truck...then shove the tube up to get the truck out of the way then lift the front of trailer to get the weight off the jack...

Take the cover off the jack and check the grease and look at the cogs. You may be able to unstick it with a large screwdriver or something.. This happened to me one time and I went back for repair and it just started working.

Don't forget his jack has lots of potential energy locked in those cogs...sticking a screw driver in there could be interesting...
