Noticed I have been getting some water in the horse area after a big rain. Climbed the ladder today and took a peek. The caulking needs to be redone. I completed some of it today. What's the quickest way to get the caulking off from around the main roof seem? Do I need to pull the 1/2 in pinch rail off and caulk under it for a good seal or can I just clean around it and re-caulk? I have an Exiss Event by the way. Trailer is an 06'.

A bronze wire wheel installed on an electric drill will shred the caulking. However, it will also eventually damage the thin aluminum, so you must be especially careful in your efforts, and constantly closely inspect your progress. A rigid steel brush will almost always end up damaging the soft aluminum and cause corrosion. All of the original caulking should be removed before a replacement coating is applied. Mechanical scrapers can be used, but any edges should be rounded to avoid an aluminum puncture. A knife should never be used, sharp edge against the metal. Any cuts or scrapes will eventually result in a failure of the metal.

If the gaps are wide enough for twp or more strands of caulking, you might consider Elastomeric products as a substitute. They are easy to install and can bridge larger gaps than caulking.

Started in the horse area today. I had a bad day yesterday, couldn't walk for a bit. Had some cartilage get stuck in my knee joint. Feeling better today. The question is does this silkaflex stay that plyable? My nylon brushed wheel is just spreading it around once I get past the dried out stuff. Any kind of solvent I can use to wipe off the residue?

Things are going well. I am finishing up the horse area. It is taking me a little while cause the ladder is killing me. I have found that using a 1' puddy knife makes it a snap to peal off.
