Hi there...

Has anyone ever added a slam-latch to an escape door? I really like the concept of entering the LQ from the horse stalls, and many of the older-model trailers did not come with a slam-latch, so can't be closed easily upon entering.

Thanks!

I believe she is referring to having a latch like the main LQ door has, letting it be used as a person door, while still having the HD latch for transport with horses.

Yes ma'am, we've done this many times before. All doors are a little different, but anyone comfortable fabricating aluminum should be able to handle such a task. Some doors will require the addition of a small frame to hold and support the latch (this will be of aluminum tubing inside the door itself). Then just a plate and hole in the frame- and you're ready.
