Location: AL | I have an 06 truck with a Prodigy brake controller, and it works great with my Merhow and my old Exiss- it's the proportional brake controller and I can easily adjust it, the display works fine, etc. Now we've bought a little beater trailer and had to replace the plug on the trailer, it had been dragged at some point and was just trashed. Bought a new plug and wired it to match the specs that came with the Merhow manual and everything works on the beater- lights, turn signal, brake lights...but the brake controller doesn't light up at all, so it doesn't recognize that there's a trailer plugged in back there...but when I touch the truck brakes, the trailer brakes come on FULL force- and since the controller doesn't recognize that there's a trailer back there, I can't adjust them.how do I fix this? Ideas? |

Location: North Carolina | sounds like the trailer brakes are wired to the brake light circuit. Does your controller still work properly with the other trailers? If yes, the new/old trailer wiring is at fault. |
