Location: Minnesota | Was just thinking that a no slide-out trailer might be a smarter move as I might not always have the clearance to "slide-out", and then am probably hindered in using/enjoying my trailer
What is everyone's experience with this?

Location: Central Arkansas | I always look for trailers that I can still use with the slide in. The one I have right now, I give up the LR entertainment center but can use everything else. Being able to access the bathroom, the frig, the microwave,the kitchen sink and the couch are mantatory for me. It is a tight fit for mr to squeak thru, but I manage. I have found that I am rarely anywhere that I can't put my slide out at least part way. |

Location: Central Arkansas | I also give up the use of the fireplace and stuff in the cabinets around the big TV, when I have my slide in. But I have TV, DVD, & satelite access in bedroom so what I miss the most when my slide is in is the roomy floor space. |

Location: South Dakota | I don't think I could handle NOT having a slide out. I've never been in a situation I couldn't get my slide out and I pay attention where I park. If something is that close to my trailer I can't get my slide out then its too close to tie my horses. Move on and go to a different spot. Its tight but I can access everything while traveling and the slide is in i.e. the bathroom, fridge etc. |

Location: Ohio | Absolutely love our slide out. It gives you so much more floor space. I agree with the above post, I have not had a situation I could not open my slide out. If they are that close, it is too close for me to comfortably move around my trailer. I would not have another LQ horse trailer without a slide. |

Location: Sumas Washington | I did NOT buy a slide out with my Platinum trailer and I am happy with that dicision. I owned a camper with a slide and watched it slowly stop working , gaskets were the first to go then the motor and the structure of the unit itself. I am a metal fabricator and wonder how structurally strong a trailer is if a huge hole is cut in the side. I know that if done properly you have a good unit, my fear was that I would not know how well that hole was reinforced till years later. |

| I like a shorter trailer (25' or so) and am not willing to give up the closet space to add the floor space a slide gives.
And I'm real bad about not liking any problems, like Gonzo said, that solid aluminum wall will give me much less issues over my 15 years of ownership than a slide will.
There are many floorplans that feel very nice and open, without a slide. So I passed. But to each his own. |

Location: Alberta Canada | Horsey 1 I am with you on this... I looked at a lot of used trailers with slides, found most had issues with the slide after a few years. Appeared to be in all makes of trailers, but felt mostly due to poor maintenance. So got one without slide, and lots of storage and sure haven't regretted it... but again... each to his own |
